My wife was steward but when I found out there was a big wheee children couldn’t live there, I purchased the house in Windhelm instead.Unfortunately by doing so, I am not able to have Steward dialogue options with Erik as I would with my House Carl--ie purchasing the carriage driver, bard, cow, chickens, building materials, etc. The only way I've found to revert back to having my House Carl as Steward would be to kill Erik or have him die in battle of some sort …I had Faendal but he died. So I used someone else (can’t remember his name) and he stayed. Did it specifically let you ask them to be your steward? Belrand has been an absolute trooper at Goldenhills.
